Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to All! We had an absolutely lovely evening. Since Jason and the rest of the mine have been working a month straight with no days off, so the mine rewarded the Operations Associates (engineers) with a Thanksgiving Dinner at the Peabody Lodge here in Steamboat. It was sooooo great not to have worry about cooking and cleaning and all the fun stuff that goes along with holidays. Here are some pictures from our evening. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Another successful birthday is in the books (at least I think so)! Baby Girl turned 2 on Friday. We had a wonderful time. Avery had a Dora the Explorer Cake and played with some fabulous birthday gifts! Here are some pictures of the day!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everybody! We had another successful Halloween. As you can tell from the photos, Avery was a white tiger and Evan was Superman. Evan has been wanting to wear his super suit ever since we got it a month ago. He wavered for a moment when he saw the Buzz Lightyear costume but Superman was always THE man. Avery wasn't too sure about the tiger hat that went over her head but she go used to it. I think the chilly temperatures helped. Yesterday we went over to our friend Emma's house for a Halloween party where the kids ate, drank, played, and painted pumpkins. Evan had a blast. You know it is a good party when all the kids are crying when their parents make them leave! Today we did some trick-or-treating. Avery is obsessed with M&M's. And Evan loved anything with sugar! Oh lord, here comes the sugar high! Here are some of the pictures from our week-end.

And So It Begins...

The snow has started. It is our first winter storm of the season and I am sure it is only the beginning. It is a little later than last year but I hear this is a La Nina year which means more snow for us. Hooray. I just love shoveling the driveway!

The Babies

I know I haven't updated the blog in a while. Nothing too exciting going on since we have been back from Virginia. Jason has been working A LOT so it has been just me and the munchkins lately. A few updates: Avery has finally gotten her first hair cut. Of course me being the awesome mother I am, forgot to take the camera. So no action shots. Maybe haircut #2. She did really well. We let the pro, Evan, get his hair cut first. He has been getting almost monthly haircuts since he was 3 months old. I swear he is part monkey. Poor baby girl is almost 2 and just now getting her hair cut. And I use that term lightly...it was basically like three stragglers they cut off the bottom to even her hair out. She looks a little less crazy in the morning so I guess that is a plus. Soon there will be no more baby left in her, which makes me super sad! Evan is also doing really well. After wavering on his potty training, I think it has now stuck completely! Of course we are still using pull ups at night but nothing but big boy underwear all day. I couldn't be happier. I believe potty training is the hardest thing I have ever done with him. Nothing has been more frustrating! Now on to baby girl. She has already shown an interest, so hopefully things will go much more smoothly! She has been super cranky lately though. She is currently cutting two molars and thinking about cutting two more. These are the last four baby teeth for her so it will be super nice once it is done. She doesn't get one tooth at a time, she gets like two or four at a time. Lucky Me! I all seriousness, I am so lucky to have my family and spend every day with them even though it is exceptionally hectic most days. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Colorado Beauty

Living out here in Colorado may be far from home but man does it have it's perks! Some of the scenery is just gorgeous!
*
*
This is a mountain I call rainbow mountain for obvious reasons. I just love how the layers of rocks are colored!
*
*
Some of the Aspen's are changing colors!

The flat tops....can you guess why they are named that?
