Our neighbors, The Sosters, gave us a lovely gift of a trike ride up the coast. We rode a custom made trike, complete with a driver. It was a unique experience, that only the adults got do. But, the kids had fun pretending to drive and playing on the motorcycle anyway. Here are some pics from the day.

Roar and Snore
Now that Avery is 5, we all got to go to Taronga Zoo's Roar and Snore Program in Sydney. You get to enter the zoo after dark, spend the night in a tent, and visit some of the animals that are more active at night. It was a fabulous experience that everyone should do at least once. Falling "asleep" to the roaring of the big cats and the screaming (?) of the chimpanzees was something I'll never forget. The next morning the "laughing" kookaburras, woke us up bright and early. We then got some behind the scenes tours before the zoo opened, which included feeding the giraffes carrots and petting Maley the sea lion. Super cool. Oh and the views of Sydney's icons weren't bad either.
School Days, School Days, Dear Ol' Golden Rule Days!
My babies are growing up and I don't like it. Evan started 1st Grade this year and Avery started Kindergarten. Evan has always loved school, so he was back in Evan Heaven. I was a little nervous about Avery not wanting to go to school and leave her dear, dear mother. First day she said, "bye mom!" and that was all she wrote.
Hello From Hamilton Island, QLD
After Christmas, but before school started again, we hopped on a plane and jetted off. This time to Hamilton Island in Queensland, Australia. It was a nice way to relax before the craziness of school began again!
