Happy Early Birthday, Baby Girl!

Since GiGi won't be here for Baby Girl's 1st Birthday.....we thought we might throw her a faux birthday. We had strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing. From the pictures you can tell Avery wasn't quite sure what to do with them. She did end up getting a little bit of the icing and I think she liked it fairly well. Hopefully this is a good dry run for her actual birthday. She got lots of fun toys that Evan already loves playing with. Hopefully he will learn to share Avery's toys with her. He also got a tiny present or two just to curb the jealousy. It is hard to a two year old to understand that everything isn't about him!

Trash Truck, Trash Truck!

Wednesday is Evan's favorite day of the week because the trash truck comes to take away our trash. At first he would wave to the trash man but then once the man actually waved back to Evan he wasn't quite sure what to do. He can hear the roar of the truck from down the street and starts screaming "trash truck....mama....trash truck". So we then have to go outside on the deck and watch the trash truck make its way all the way around our circle. I don't know why it excites him as much as it does. The last picture is one of our house. All the Hokie fans will notice the maroon and orange flying proudly!

A Visit From GiGi

GiGi has come to visit us this week and we couldn't be happier! Especially Evan since he is getting M&M's on a fairly regular basis. We have had a blast. We picked GiGi up at the airport in Denver and hit a few shops there....Babies R Us and Sam's Club (Hooray). We then headed back to Steamboat Springs where Daddy made a delicious dinner for us. Yesterday we went to the Outlet Shops at Silverthorne. HOOOOOORRRRAAAAYYYYY! I had a field day getting some winter clothes for the kids. I just love the Carter's Outlet Store. I love saving 50 to 70% off retail! We are going to throw Baby Girl a faux birthday party tonight. It should be fun and hopefully we will put more pictures up soon!

Loungin' on Labor Day

On this Labor Day we are... at home. Unfortunately, Jason has to work today. It doesn't make much sense to me but then again....nobody asked me. The kids and I are just hangin' out. It is kind of rainy today so no fun for us outside. Evan's favorite place to be by the way. Nothing too exciting going on but I thought I would take some pictures and post them. Enjoy.
P.S. We are not sending the last picture in to the Desitin company for advertisements!

Where there's smoke...

Who knew the fires in LA would affect us here in Colorado. Apparently some of the smoke has gotten into the jet stream and headed to the mountains. The first picture was taken on a somewhat rainy day but the same mountain is pictured in the next three photos. Normally it is plainly visible but it is pretty smokey and they said it should last for the next couple of days. At least it isn't hot!

Moose America

Baby Girl had her nine month check up last week. She is still on her tall and skinny curve. She weighs 16 lbs. 14 oz. and is 28 1/2 in. long which puts her in the 13th and 85th percentiles. Her head however went from the 90th to the 95th percentile. I keep telling the doctors that we have big headed babies but they don't believe me until they see the numbers. I just like to think they have huge brains. Otherwise, Baby Girl is doing well. She is crawling now and is using furniture to pull up to standing. It won't be long before she is walking. I fear that she and Evan will start to conspire against me. I will definitely have to keep my eye on them! Evan is like a little man now. I have taught him to say his name. His vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. He is like a little sponge! They grow up too quickly!
P.S. I bought this onesie just for Gigi ;-)

The Canadians Fly South

My dad and grandmother came down from Alberta, Canada to visit with us for a week. We had a blast with Pee Paw and Gamma. Evan especially enjoyed all the chocolate the Gamma would sneak him when I wasn't looking. The chocolate ring around his mouth was a dead giveaway though. Nice try Gamma. I, on the other hand, enjoyed her world famous perogies. Grandma showed me how to make them but I fear I will never be able to live up to those. Thank goodness she made a bunch. I am told I have to share some with the family at Christmas. We will see if they last that long! It was too bad that they had to go so quickly but we are already planning on getting Baby Girl a passport so that we can visit them next time!

Worst Undercover Baby Disguise Ever!

What fun is having babies if you can't mess with them! Clearly the milk carton from Costco worked wonders for our enjoyment. Avery didn't seem to mind much. But I think I like the last picture the best!

Salty Dog!

It is very difficult to get a good, smiling picture of Evan. I believe the lad had just woken up from a nap. And just who is camera ready after just waking up from a nap?! Certainly not Evan :-)
