Little Reader

*

Evan was totally busted this morning by his daddy! He loves to read the Dr. Seuss books and this morning before we had a chance to get him out of his room, he took it upon himself to read a book. I believe this one is called Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? I thought the expression on his face when he was busted was priceless!
Halloween pictures to follow, hopefully today!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

*

This kid! So Evan was supposed to be watching Sesame Street. I was working on the computer (not very far away mind you). I go in to sit with him and found him like this! He found a felt tip marker and decided to draw all over his pants! Luckily he did not make one mark, that I have found, on the couch! Ugh! What am I going to do with him. As you can see, he was very proud of his art project!

Come Back Daddy!

Daddy left for Colorado again today. He should be back Thursday night. We miss him already, especially Evan! We can't wait for Halloween and of course will post pictures of the little man either Friday night or sometime Saturday!

I Voted!

Jason and I are lucky enough to live in a state that allows early voting. So today we did our civic duty and voted. We took Evan along for his first voting experience! He loved it and of course he got a little sticker as a reminder. He wore his badge of honor proudly!

Avery Pics and Update

Here are the latest pictures of Avery and a quick video snippet. I had an ultrasound today and they estimated her weight to be 5 pounds! Yikes! Apparently that is only in the 35th percentile so she is on track if not slightly underweight. But have no fear I will have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to check her weight and growth. She is supposed to gain half a pound a week now, so that should put her at about 7 and a half pounds at birth. Other than that everything is going well. I thought that these pictures were too cute not to post. The squiggly thing in the picture is her umbilical cord. No worries there either....it is not around her neck. The ultrasound tech said that in the 2-D ultrasound pics she could already see some hair on her head so I imagine she will come out with just as much as Evan did! We are still on track to be induced a week early (around Nov. 20th) but we will keep you posted on any new developments should they arise! Otherwise, Enjoy!

The Happy Family

So we took some pictures today so that we can put them in Avery's Baby Book. We thought we might share them with you. I feel huge and can't really imagine 8 more weeks of being pregnant! Enjoy!

Avery Update

More fuzzy pictures of Avery! I had an ultrasound today. They estimated her weight to be 3 lbs. 8 oz. Yikes! It turns out that I do have the gestational diabetes. I have stuck to the diet to no avail. I am now on insulin/pills to bring down my sugar levels so that she doesn't grow to be gigantic! I will start having weekly ultrasounds (Biophysical Profiles), so expect more pictures of baby girl. Also, since I am on medication, the doctor will more than likely induce me about a week early. So I guess her new expected due date is Nov. 20 or 21. I will keep you posted as we get closer on the scheduled date. Other than that everything looks good.

Evan In His Dougie Chair

The big man has hit another milestone. He is now in his big boy bed. We took the front piece off his crib and put the toddler rails up. They attach at each side but don't span the whole front of the bed, leaving an open gap in the middle. He is able to get out of his bed if he wants to. The first night he fell out twice (we put a pillow on the floor to soften the fall, plus the bed is lowered to it's lowest setting so he didn't have far to fall). Since then, no more accidents. Anyway, I put him down for his afternoon nap today. The first time he got up and started to play with the toys in his room. I went in and put him back in his bed and all was quiet. I am thinking "great, all is well". We have a video monitor pointed at his bed. I went to check the monitor to make sure he was sleeping peacefully when to my surprise, he was not in his bed. I was a wee bit concerned so I peaked in to check on him and found him in his chair. We call it the Dougie Chair after his great grandfather Douglas, who was it's previous owner and partly his namesake. Needless to say I picked him up and put him back in his bed (the fall from the chair would not be as easy as the fall from the bed). He was not thrilled to be back in the bed but quickly fell asleep anyway! This little guy definitely keeps me on my toes! I thought the picture was too cute not to post.

A Day At The Park

The Davis Family was all together on this Labor Day! Hooray! We were so happy to have daddy home on a Monday. We spent the whole day together. We visited a nearby park, where Evan went on his first big boy slide. He even went down one time all by himself! It was super hot today so the park trip was cut short. We had fun though and can't wait to do it again soon!

Are You Ready For Some Football!!!

It is that time of the year again. As you can see our Hokie Pride runs deep in the Davis household. Hopefully our enthusiasm and support will translate into a winning season for the Hokies!

Avery Update

Hello folks. Here is your monthly Avery update and picture. I went to the doctor today and had another ultrasound. They were able to see all four chambers of her heart (they had a little difficulty the last time with the way she was positioned) and estimated her weight to be 1 lb. 11 oz. This puts her in the 52nd percentile. So she looks good and is plumping up nicely. I had my gestational diabetes test today and will get the results back Monday. Lets all think low! Otherwise, all is well with me and I will see the doctor again in three weeks. Until then....

Our Day At The Zoo

We went to the Evansville Zoo today. It was a bit warm but we walked pretty much the whole thing. Evan even did a little walking himself although the stroller was available. Evan loved the monkeys the most. I think it is because he is a monkey himself! Here are some pictures and videos of our day.
*
They had a little exhibit in the Jaquar Section that was called the Jaguar Trap and here are pictures of Evan in the trap!

.

Not sure what this was called but we thought it looked very crazy.

This is one of their baby Zebras

Peacock....of course.

Evan and Jason with a very silly monkey behind them.

Evan thought he looked like a kitty so he would go up to the glass and say "Kitty, Kitty!" It was very cute!

Video of Evan and Jason with the Giraffe!

Cousin Kristen's Baby Shower

I was in Virginia this weekend for my Cousin Kristen's Baby Shower. She is also having a baby girl due September 5th. Her name will be Lillian Harper Ray and we can't wait to meet her. I included just a couple of pictures. The top one is of my mother Vicki and my grandmother Ninny. The bottom one is of the pregnant girls, me of course, and Kristen. We had a wonderful time and we were very happy to see the family. Enjoy!

Fun In The Sun

Here are some pictures of Evan in new swimming pool. Clearly it is in the shape of a giant frog. I guess that makes Evan the fly. Anyway, I think Evan had a blast. I know we had fun watching him. It is nice and steamy hot here in Cornville, USA. I wish we had a real pool or at least the lake to jump into. Is summer over yet?

Avery Update

Still a girl! No new appendages!

Clearly this is her profile with her arm and hand up in the air. Questions?

Another profile, only a little clearer.

The ultrasound went well. This one was to check the anatomy. She is still a girl, as you can see from the first picture. Everything else looked good but with the way she was positioned, they could not see all four chambers of her heart. So I will have a follow-up ultrasound on August 15th. Also the doctors said she weighed 13 oz. This puts her in the 32nd percentile. She is a little small, but they will check that again at the next ultrasound. Otherwise, everything looked good. Her heartbeat was about 150 bpm and her spine and other organs looked good. We will of course keep you posted on any new information that we will receive.

Happy 4th of July!

We have returned home from our trip to Virginia for the Fourth of July. We had a blast but wish the weather would have been a little more cooperative. It was great getting to see all of our friends and family. I suppose the next time we see most of them, we will have a new addition to the family! Here are just some of the pictures from our trip. Enjoy!
